A PIONEERING PROJECT
MJA Metalwork was pleased to be involved in the pioneering project that resulted in two blocks of flats, Somerset Heights and Stour Heights, being acquired by Ashford Borough Council with the aim of providing cost-effective housing for priority lists of key workers in the town. The 109 flats were built across two blocks with a total investment value of £18.5 million pounds and a project value to MJA Metalwork of £700k.
A BENEFIT TO EVERYONE
Our involvement was a key benefit for Ashford Borough Council and the associated developers as we are well-known across the South East for being the only steel fabricating company that can offer assistance all along the supply chain from under one roof and as one high-performing team.
QUALITY MANUFACTURING
The efficient manufacturing techniques employed by the team at MJA Metalwork ensured the installation was quick and easy and our robust designs add functional strength as well as aesthetic excellence. Our solution for this project was meticulously designed to match the appearance of the development and also the surrounding area so as to help the large, new buildings blend into their urban environment from day one.
Our balconies are all manufactured off-site to prevent site access issues or delays. Then the final safety checks and the installation is handled by our specialist team to the highest certified safety regulations.
Our systems are compliance and stress tested and our work is fully insured and covered by an extensive quality and assurance scheme.
We were also pleased to provide the developers and the new tenants the highest standard in safety as all of our materials are non-combustible and present no risks from weathering or exposure to heat.
WELL RECEIVED
The mayor of Ashford, Councillor Callum Knowles, paid tribute to those who had worked tirelessly to get the project finished and said that the development was “leading the way” in housing and he was “especially pleased to see affordable accommodation provided to key workers”.
Thanks to MJAllen Metalwork for this excellent project, finished on-time and in budget, that is leading the way in innovative and sustainable building.
